2012 UAOA Conference

Joni, Allied Health Science Program Advisor, Kathie, Math Lecturer/Advisor, and Mace, SSS Advisor/Coordinator heading off to the Spin Cafe in Heber City with the rest of the misfits.

 The cafe specialty is hickory-smoked bar-b-que, as well as homemade gelato ice cream.

 The conference was held at the Zermatt Resort which has a uniquely Swiss and German fill to it in a
background of the mountain alpine setting.

 Bridget was selected to present at the Utah Advising Orientation Association  (UAOA) for two years in a row. She will be presenting similar information at the last conference titled “The Silent and Surprising Aspects of Advising in Nonverbal Communication.”   In the background is Landon, Academic Intervention and Drew, Assistant Director of New Student Services (R.O.A.D.S.).

 The mission of the Utah Advising and Orientation Association is to provide professional development opportunities for college and university personnel who advise students or are involved in student orientation.

2011-2012 fall, spring, and summer graduates were honored at DSC's Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 4, 2012.  The graduates had the opportunity to share the excitement and importance of their academic accomplishments with faculty, fellow graduates, family, and friends.

2012 High School Advisement & Registration Sessions



Academic Advisors, Lecturer/Advisors, Program Advisors and Peer Advisors help support New Student Services in advising and registering students in their high schools. Freshman orientation or R.O.A.D.S. served 900+ students this year and 830+  students attending the a 2012 summer freshman orientation at DSC.
